Police seek alleged drive-by shooter
Shreveport Police detectives are seeking a local man in connection with a drive-by shooting in west Shreveport.
Authorities are looking for 34-year-old Daleton Ray, of the 6500 block of Tierra Drive in Shreveport, relative to an outstanding warrant for his arrest charging him with one count of attempted first degree murder. His bond is set at $80,000. Investigators believe Ray fired on a crowd of people from a vehicle back on October 16, 2010 in the 6100 block of Tierra Drive. No one was hit by the gunfire.
Investigators discovered that Daleton Ray apparently fired at the victims because an ongoing dispute regarding a reported robbery that occurred on October 15, 2010. Detectives arrested 29-year-old Courtney Ray on October 16, 2010 and charged him with one count of illegal use of a weapon in connection with a separate but related shooting.
Daleton Ray is described as a black male, approximately 5' 9" inches tall weighing about 135 pounds. Investigators believe he should be considered armed and dangerous.
