A late night shooting leaves one man in the hospital and a suspect still on the loose.
Around 10 p.m. Tuesday night, Shreveport police responded to a shooting call in the 3000 block of Stonewall Street in the Queensborough neighborhood. When officers arrived they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the ankle area, said Sgt. Jim Taliaferro of the Shreveport Police Department.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to the leg. Many questions about the shooting remain unanswered. Authorities say the victim was very vague about exactly what happened leading up to the shooting.
Investigators did a canvas of the area, but were not able to find any additional witnesses, so the investigation is still ongoing, according to Sgt. Taliaferro. Some evidence was recovered at the scene near where the victim was found injured on the sidewalk, but right now investigators have little to go on.
