Tuesday, November 15, 2011 - 5:17pm

Police are searching for a local woman wanted in connection with a stabbing that occurred in Shreveport’s Allendale neighborhood last week.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on November 6, 2011, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to a reported stabbing in the 1900 block of Patzman Street. Upon arrival, officers found 19 year old Michelle Thomas suffering from several lacerations to her torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital by the Shreveport Fire Department with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon further investigation, detectives learned Thomas and another woman, identified as 28 year old Waynetta L. Johnson, were involved in a physical altercation there on Patzman Street when Johnson allegedly produced some type of edged weapon and accosted the victim. Based on this information and other evidence gathered during the course of their inquiry, investigators obtained an arrest warrant charging Johnson, of the 1900 block of Patzman Street in Shreveport, with one count of aggravated battery. Her bond is set at $50,000.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Waynetta Johnson is urged to call detectives at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
