Officials set to kick off Shreveport-Bossier City Night Out

Tuesday, October 5, 2010 - 9:15am

Cooler weather is here and Shreveport is all set to celebrate Shreveport-Bossier City Night Out next Tuesday evening.

At 5:30 p.m. on October 5, 2010, Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover and Chief of Police Willie Shaw will officially kick off the festivities at the Community Renewal International’s Queensborough Friendship House in the 2800 block of Darien Street. Shreveport-Bossier City Night Out is truly a unique opportunity for folks to get out and not only meet their neighbors but to interact with their public safety professionals and elected officials.

This year’s theme is “Give crime and drugs a going away party” and Shreveport has approximately 100 block parties registered to participate and make our city a better, safer place.
