Tuesday, July 5, 2011 - 4:29pm

Bossier City Police are investigating a crash that killed the driver of a motorcycle.

Police received a call from a motorist around 11:30 p.m. Monday regarding a motorcycle that was found in the median of I-220 about a half mile east of Shed Road. Police responded and located the motorcycle. However after conducting a search of the area, officers found no one who may have been on the motorcycle. Police also checked area hospitals to see if anyone may have showed up who was involved in a crash but none were reported.

Police returned to the scene today and located the body of a man believed to be the driver of the motorcycle on an embankment in the median of I-220 approximately a quarter mile away from where police found the motorcycle last night.

Members of the Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the cause of the crash. They say it appears the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on I-220 when it crashed along a guardrail. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle.
The driver’s name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
