BOSSIER PARISH-  Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on LA 157, just north of US 80, in Bossier Parish yesterday.

According to investigating troopers, 27-year-old John Keith of Princeton, was traveling north on LA 157 in a 2008 Ford truck when he approached a vehicle that was stopped in front of him. Keith stopped behind the vehicle which was waiting to make a left turn into a private drive. At the same time a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle, operated by 48-year-old Michael Paige of Bossier City, approached the Ford truck from behind at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. Paige applied the brake but could not stop in time. As a result, the motorcycle collided with the rear portion of the Ford truck.

Paige was wearing a helmet but was ejected from the motorcycle in the crash. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bossier Parish Coroner.

Keith was not injured in the accident.

The vehicle that was stopped making the left turn was not impacted in the crash.

Routine toxicology test results are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
