Mistakenly released inmates back in Caddo jail

Four suspects who were mistakenly released from custody on Wednesday after their pending state charges were dismissed are back in jail today, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator and U.S. Marshal Henry Whitehorn.

Darien Jones, 22, of the 2900 block of Looney; Darien Reliford, 41, of the 2900 block of W. Laurel; Tamika Barrett, 40, of the 2900 block of Milton; and Lagashia Woodard, 21, of the 2900 block of Looney, all turned themselves in at the Caddo Correctional Center around 2 a.m. this morning. One additional suspect, 52-year-old Cecil Cole, was located and re-arrested on Thursday.

All five inmates appeared in federal court last week for arraignment after their case was adopted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. On Wednesday, a district court judge dismissed all state charges against them, and the Caddo Correctional Center was notified of the dismissal. Jail staff received this information and released the defendants on Wednesday evening.
