Minden Man seriously injured in crash on I-20

Webster Parish – On Wednesday at around 8:30 a.m. Louisiana State Police were called to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 at milepost 43, just west of Dixie Inn, in Webster Parish.

A Minden man was seriously injured in the crash.

According to investigating troopers, 23-year-old Jarius Twilley of Chicago, IL, was traveling west on I-20 while operating a Freightliner(tractor trailer), when he approached slow moving traffic due to a previous crash. At that time, an SUV that was traveling west on Interstate 20 collided with the rear portion of the tractor trailer.

The SUV became wedged underneath the rear of the trailer and was dragged several hundred feet to its point of rest.
The driver, 34-year-old Russell Johnston of Minden, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and sustained serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital in Shreveport by helicopter.

Twilley was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was not injured.
