Minden man arrested for video voyeurism

Wednesday, May 11, 2011 - 4:39pm

FROM THE BOSSIER SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT:

Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says a Minden man was arrested Monday for video voyeurism.

Clinton C. Woods, 41, of the 900 block of Nella Street in Minden, was taken into custody by Bossier Sheriff’s detectives on May 9 following a warrant for his arrest which was drawn up May 5 for video voyeurism.

Bossier Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched on May 3 to Bahama Tanning and Gifts on Highway 80 to investigate a call by a female complainant who said she was being videotaped by a man during a tanning session at the business.

She stated to the deputies that while she was getting dressed following her tanning appointment that she noticed something hanging over the wall of the adjoining tanning room, which shares a common wall which is a bit lower than the ceiling. She said she stood up and immediately realized that she was being filmed or photographed when she saw a cell phone being held over the wall of the tanning booth she was in.
She said she immediately screamed, ran out of the room and told employees to call 911 because the person in the adjoining room was filming her as she undressed and tanned. About 10 minutes later, Clinton Woods exited the adjoining room and was interviewed by Bossier Sheriff’s deputies.

Woods was later interviewed by Bossier Sheriff’s detectives, stating he admitted to being in the adjoining tanning room to the female complainant because he had an appointment during that time. He admitted to detectives that he possessed a camera phone and stated that he had it with him in the adjoining tanning room of the female complainant. Woods admitted to detectives that he was the only person in the adjoining tanning room at the time and it would have been impossible for another person to have gained access to the room and use a camera phone; however, he denied the allegations against him.

After further questioning with the complainant by Bossier Sheriff’s detectives, an arrest warrant for Clinton Woods was drawn up for video voyeurism on May 5. Bossier Sheriff’s detectives arrested Woods on the video voyeurism charge on May 9 for the incident that happened on May 3.

Woods was taken to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and booked.

His bond was set at $5,000.
