Man robs Shreveport credit union; police search for suspect
Police investigators are searching for a man who robbed a southeast Shreveport credit union this afternoon.
At around 1:23 p.m. on Tuesday, Shreveport police officers were sent to Barksdale Federal Credit Union’s Eastbank Branch in the 1500 block of East 70th Street to a reported robbery.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a man entered the credit union and gave a note to one of the tellers saying he was armed and wanted money. The robber was given an undisclosed amount of cash and left the scene on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.
Detectives immediately responded to the scene of the crime and are working at this hour to interview witnesses and recover evidence. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, who was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, a dark colored hoodie and baggie dark colored jeans with a multi-colored baseball cap. Surveillance images will be released as soon as they are available.
