Man dressed as woman robs Family Dollar

Authorities need your help identifying and apprehending a suspect who robbed a west Shreveport dollar store Tuesday night.

At around 8:20 p.m. Shreveport police officers were called to a robbery at the Family Dollar in the 3800 block of Linwood Avenue. When they arrived, patrolmen contacted a witness who told them a man entered the store and purchased a pack of chewing gum. As the clerk was opening the register, the man allegedly reached into a tote bag and raised it up as if he was concealing a weapon. The suspect demanded money, and after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, ran from the scene.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described a dark complected black man with a slim build, was allegedly wearing a blue dress and a red wig at the time of the heist.
