Detectives have arrested a Shreveport man accused of abusing two small children.
At approximately 8:45 p.m. last night, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to a home in the 2100 block of Jack Street regarding a welfare concern. Upon arrival there, officers contacted the complainant who reported to them that earlier in the evening she had picked up her two nephews, ages one and two, from another relative’s home and observed some suspicious bruises on the little boys. Officers documented that there was significant bruising visible on the torsos of the children and they immediately notified detectives.
Investigators responded to the scene as did Child Protective Services. Upon further investigation, detectives learned the boys had been staying with a family member identified as 25 year old Isiah D. Thomas. Thomas, of the 1700 block of Nash Street in Shreveport, met investigators this morning at the Shreveport Police Complex where they interviewed him relative to this case. Thomas was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail on two counts of felony cruelty to juveniles. Both of the children were left in the care of their aunt and the investigation is ongoing at this time.
