A Haughton man was arrested late last week for hitting his former girlfriend in the face and other areas several times with a closed fist.
Jonathon R. Frye, 26, of the 1500 block of Adner Rd., got into a verbal argument with his former live-in girlfriend around midnight Thursday before it quickly turned into a physical altercation. His girlfriend had pulled into the parking lot in front of Stocky’s Pizza on Highway 80 in Haughton, and Frye, a passenger, soon began arguing with her. He had been drinking, and she told him she didn’t want to argue and to get out of her car. Employees of the pizza place heard the ruckus outside and witnessed Frye using profanity in the parking lot. He then took his closed fist and struck his former girlfriend in the face, arms and leg at least four or five times. The victim had to be transported to the hospital to seek medical attention.
Frye was charged with domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace (language), disturbing the peace (drunk) and transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility.
While en route to the jail in the back of the deputy’s patrol car, Frye continued to act in a belligerent and drunken state. He has a previous arrest in Bossier City for domestic abuse battery.
