Bossier City Police chased and arrested a suspect Tuesday afternoon after he was seen trying to break into vehicles parked at the Louisiana Boardwalk.
18-year old Darius Darzel Dobin was arrested for attempted burglary after an officer who was patrolling the Louisiana Boardwalk as his regular shift assignment contacted Dobin upon receiving complaints from witnesses about a male subject lifting door handles on several vehicles parked in front of the IHOP restaurant.
As the officer attempted to take Dobin into custody, he pulled away and began fighting with the officer before running away. Dobin fled on foot onto the Boardwalk property and through the Bass Pro parking lot. Four other officers, including three detectives who happened to be in the area at the time, also responded and gave chase.
Officers caught up with Dobin in the Bass Pro parking lot but he again resisted and began fighting the officers who were able to handcuff and secure him following a brief struggle. As a result of the encounter three of the officers were treated for injuries.
Along with the attempted burglary charge, Dobin was also booked for resisting an officer and battery on an officer with injuries. Police also discovered Dobin had a fugitive warrant for his arrest from the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole.
