Authorities have arrested a local man they believe robbed a person after beating him with a shovel last week, while a second suspect remains on the run.

Investigators arrested 19-year old Trivion Thomas Tuesday morning after information led them to him.

Police believe Thomas and another man allegedly approached the victim just before 2:00 p.m. on Friday and beat him with a shovel. Following the attack, the robbers made off with his cash, wallet and cell phone. Thomas, of Shreveport, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail charged with one count of second degree robbery and one count of possession of marijuana.

Detectives are still searching for the second suspect in this case and are asking anyone who might have any information to call Shreveport Police Detective Lane Smith at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
