Detectives are investigating over half a dozen burglary cases reported since the first of the month at different bars in east Shreveport.
The crimes apparently started just after July 1, 2011, and since that time officers have responded to at least seven such business burglaries. Nightclubs victimized are located in the 1900 block of North Market Street, the 3100 block of North Market Street, the 1300 block of Centenary Boulevard, the 1300 block of Shreveport-Barksdale Highway, the 600 block of East Kings Highway, and the 1000 block of Marshall Street. The burglaries are very similar in nature and detectives believe the same suspect or suspects are responsible for all of the break-ins.
The thieves are forcing their way into the bars, usually through a front door and, once inside, are stealing items before fleeing the scene of the crime with their loot. Investigators are now releasing still photographs of a vehicle they believe is involved in these burglaries. The vehicle is described as an older model Dodge or Plymouth mini-van, possibly a Caravan, missing a front passenger side hubcap. Anyone with any information regarding these crimes is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective Robert Gordon at 318-673-6985 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
