Investigators closing in on Shreveport convenience store robber

Shreveport detectives are working to identify and catch a man who allegedly robbed a west Shreveport convenience store this morning.

At around 11:36 a.m. on Thursday, Shreveport officers were sent to the Expressway Store in the 2300 block of Alabama Avenue to a reported robbery. Upon arrival, patrolmen contacted an employee there who told them a male suspect entered the business armed with a firearm and demanded money. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect ran from the scene of the crime. No one was injured during the robbery.

Responding officers detained two male subjects for questioning and they are at the Shreveport Police Complex at this time being interviewed by investigators. Detectives do not consider the detained persons as suspects.

The robber is described as a black male of average height and build, who was last seen with some type of black mask covering his face.
