Detectives need your help in identifying and apprehending a pair of would be bandits who attempted to rob a Shreveport convenience store last night.

At approximately 11:50 p.m. on July 20, 2011, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Pel-State Fina in the 4400 block of Hilry Huckaby Drive. Upon arrival there officers learned that two male suspects, both of whom were wearing ski masks and armed with handguns, burst into the business and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint. The clerk in turn reached under the counter, armed himself with a handgun and proceeded to fire shots. The suspects then fled the scene of the crime. Officers don’t believe the suspects were struck by gunfire and the clerk was not injured.

The suspects are described only as two black males and investigators are working at this time to recover surveillance video footage from the store. Anyone who has any information regarding this robbery is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
