Workers in the Gulf of Mexico have stopped work on the blown-out well as tropical storm Bonnie moves through the Gulf.

National Incident Commander Admiral Thad Allen has called for the evacuation of all workers near the well.

Forecasters say the storm is heading for the oil spill area.

The most important ships monitoring the well will be the last to leave and the first to get back.
