Four students hospitalized following Bossier Parish bus crash

According to the Caddo Sheriff's Office, Janise Driggers has been booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.

Officials tell KMSS Driggers was picking up children for the Summerfield Elementary School when she ran off the west side of the road, overcorrected, then hit an embankment on the east side of the road. The bus spun around 180 degrees and flipped onto its passenger side.

The 57-year old is charged with driving under the influence (first offense) with children under the age of 12 on board, careless operation, and vehicular negligent injury.

Driggers voluntarily consented to a blood test after the accident. Those results are pending.


12:23 p.m.

Three of the four students are still at a local hospital.

Officials tell KMSS all three have minor injuries.


Four students were taken to a local hospital after a Caddo Parish school bus crash in Keithville.

It happened at around 7:30 a.m. on Harper Road.

The bus driver, Janise Driggers, was arrested and charged with a DUI. She was allegedly under the influence of unnamed prescription drugs.

The current conditions of the students are unknown.
