Former mayoral aid Rick Seaton has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after a Monday afternoon hearing.

Judge Ramona Emanuel ruled that Seaton must spend 15 years behind bars for the forcible rape of an 18-year-old woman after the 2010 Independence Bowl. She also sentenced him to an additional 3 years for abuse of office.

The sentences are to be served concurrently, which means he will spend a maximum of 15 years in prison.

Following his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender.
