Friends and colleagues of Police Chief Henry Whitehorn gathered at the Shreveport headquarters Thursday.

Whitehorn was nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate last month.

Whitehorn says it was the people around him that made the difference.

His replacement has yet to be announced.
