Shreveport firefighters were called to the LSU Health Sciences Center Thursday afternoon.
Officials tell FOX 33 alarms were set off around 2 p.m. during roof work. A hot mixture that was being used burnt through the roof to the 3rd floor and smoke filled the area.
Firefighters are currently looking for the origin of the fire and should be extinguishing hot spots for most of the afternoon.
Only one floor sustained smoke damage.
No injuries have been reported. Classes are suspended until further notice.
