Fire destroys Vivian home; 3 pets killed

Three dogs were killed in a Monday morning fire that destroyed a mobile home in Vivian.

According to District Fire Chief Jay Paulette, the fire was first called in at around 8:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the house, located in the 100 block of Camp Vivian St., it was engulfed in flames.

The owner wasn't home when the fire started, but showed up in time to save a fourth dog.

Crews were able to put out the blaze after 45 minutes, but not before the house was destroyed.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Fire officials continue to investigate the scene.
