Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says a Plain Dealing man and woman were arrested late Friday night for domestic abuse battery.

David M. Hilburn, Jr., 55, and his live-in girlfriend of several months, Kathyrn M. Archer, 55, of the 100 block of Pleasant Hill Rd. in Plain Dealing, were taken into custody following a verbal argument which led to a physical fight.

Hilburn and Archer were both drinking alcohol Friday night when they started arguing. Hilburn admitted to deputies he was sitting in a chair outside the home when he kicked Archer in the stomach during the argument. Archer stated she hit Hilburn with a closed fist in the chin. Both, however, say their actions were only in self-defense. There were no other witnesses to the incident.

Hilburn and Archer were arrested and taken to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and booked on the domestic abuse battery charge.

Their bonds are set at $5,000 each.
