Chris Paddie releases statement on winning Texas House District 9

East Texas — Former Marshall Mayor Chris Paddie has won the Republican Primary in House District 9, defeating incumbent Wayne Christian. There is no Democrat filed to run in the HD 9 general election.

Paddie said, “I am honored by the overwhelming support we received from House District 9 voters. Our message of conservative, results-driven leadership resonated with individuals and families here who understand what it’s going to take to make Texas even better for future generations. I look forward to getting to work immediately to address the needs of East Texas families.”

House District 9 includes, Cass, Marion, Harrison, Panola, Sabine, and Shelby counties.

Chris Paddie is a strong fiscal and social conservative who served as Mayor of Marshall, Texas until recently. Paddie is General Manager of KMHT Radio where he hosts The Talk of East Texas radio show. Paddie also serves on the board of directors of the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Pines and Junior Achievement of East Texas. He has previously served as the Chairman of the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce and the board of directors of the Marshall Harrison County Literacy Council. He and his wife Brooke have two sons.
