Car thief caught in the act

A quick response by Bossier City Police patrol officers overnight lead to the capture and arrest of a vehicle burglary suspect.

Police arrested 20-year old Kasey Jones Swenson of Bossier City on burglary charges after they were called to the to the 3000 block of Oliver Street at around 2:20 a.m., in reference to a male subject with a backpack looking into parked vehicles.

Upon arriving in the area, one officer spotted a person fitting the description of the subject, who was later identified as Swenson. When the officer approached Swenson, he ran and led him on a foot chase through the neighborhood. Swenson tried to elude capture by climbing over fences and running through backyards of residences. Other officers were called to the area and Swenson was eventually caught a short time later a in the 3400 block of Black Lake Circle. The backpack he was carrying was also recovered and contained several GPS devices that Swenson had allegedly taken out of unlocked vehicles. Police also found Swenson in possession of an undisclosed amount of money that he had allegedly taken out of an unlocked vehicle.

Swenson was booked into the Bossier City Jail.

Detectivesare investigating whether he had been involved in any other recent vehicle burglaries.
