The Louisiana school performance scores were released Wednesday.
The 88.5 score garnered by Caddo Parish schools was rated as an overall "D".
Several school principals and Caddo Superintendent Dr. Gerald Dawkins disagreed with the grade given to there schools by the state.
"We feel that the letter grade doesn't reflect the hard work and dedication of our staff and our students", said Dawkins. But reflected that " it wasn't his best day".
The overall school district performance rating by the state grew by 1.2 points on it's evaluation scale, but it wasn't enough to keep it from the bottom of the performance scores.
Dawkins strongly emphasized that many schools in the district have improved and excel, but conceded there is room for improvement.
