Shreveport Police detectives are investigating an early morning shooting that left a taxi driver with three gunshot wounds.
At approximately 7:00 a.m. Sunday, Shreveport police officers were called to a shooting in the 1600 block of Fullerton Street. Upon arrival, officers found 56-year-old Danny Tate in his cab suffering from three gunshot wounds.
Tate told officers that he was picking up a fare on Fullerton Street when he was approached by three men. Tate says at least one of the men pulled out a handgun and robbed him of $20. During the robbery, one of the men shot him and then all three ran from the scene. Tate was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives and crime scene investigators were sent to the scene and immediately began their investigation.
Detectives have canvassed the neighborhood in an effort to find any potential witnesses to this crime and are working at this time to identify and catcg the suspects responsible. The suspects are described only as three black males.
