Bossier teen caught with loaded gun at school

Thursday, December 15, 2011 - 12:20pm

Bossier Sheriff's officials tell KMSS, a 15-year-old student at Charlotte Ann Mitchell Educational Center in Bossier City was arrested Thursday morning for bringing a loaded weapon on to the school’s campus.

The student apparently concealed the gun as he rode the bus to school and entered the school building. Soon after school began, the school resource officer noticed the teenager acting suspiciously and found the fully loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun on him

“We don’t know what the student’s intentions were, but it appears no threats were made,” said Sheriff Deen. “However, the intuition and quick action by our school resource officer diffused what could have possibly led to a much worse situation.”

The teen student was charged with carrying a firearm onto school property and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center in Bossier City.
