Bossier residents can expect an increase in their sewer bill soon.
The Bossier City Red River Water Treatment Plant announced last week that people living in the city can see an $8 dollar-a-month increase, with those outside the limits expecting a $12 hike.
The move comes as the plant is forced to repair an intake system and facing a hefty fine from the EPA if improvements are not made.
The utility plant told council members the price hikes are as low as they can be to cover the cost of the changes.
They insist the new bill will not be double what it once was.
Bossier is also getting ready to issue some $60 million in bonds for a new sewer plant.
