Bossier City to mark 10th anniversary of 9/11

The annual memorial ceremony in remembrance of the victims of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks will mark the event’s 10th anniversary this Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Liberty Garden located at the Bossier City Municipal Complex between the Bossier City Police and Fire Departments, 620 Benton Road. The public is invited to attend.

The scheduled keynote speaker will be Colonel Janet M. Deltuva, Deputy Command Surgeon, Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base. Col. Deltuva was stationed at the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001 when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the building after being hijacked by terrorists and was among the first responders to render aid. Mayor Lorenz “Lo” Walker will also provide welcoming remarks.

The event is sponsored by Keep Bossier Beautiful and the City of Bossier City.
