A body found this morning in a ditch off Keithville-Kingston Road is believed to be that of a 71-year-old man missing from his south Caddo Parish home since Thursday.
Venson Mosley Jr. was last seen walking from the front yard of his residence on Sandwood in Keithville on Dec. 30. He was reported missing to the Caddo Sheriff's Office the following day when he never returned home.
Deputies and family members scoured the wooded area and roadway around Mosley's home on several occasions and issued bulletins about the missing man to area media.
This morning, Mosley's blue sweatshirt caught the attention of one of his family members who was in a truck near their property on Keithville-Kingston Road. Deputies said a body clothed in the shirt was found in a ditch covered by grass and weeds that were about a foot high.
Positive identification and cause of death will be determined by the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office, but no trauma was evident, said Sheriff's Detective Jason Morgan.
