Shreveport Police detectives need your help in locating a teenage girl who has apparently run away from home.

On Sunday, Shreveport police patrol officers were dispatched to a home in the 2500 block of Prestwick Court relative to a runaway teenager. Upon arrival, officers contacted the child’s mother who advised them her 17 year old daughter, Olivia Bates, left their home there on Prestwick Court headed for Southwood High School on Thursday, March 22, 2012 and has not been seen or heard from since.

Olivia is described as a black female, about five feet two inches tall, weighing approximately 165 pounds. She does not wear her hair in braids anymore as shown in her photograph but has her hair styled in a short bob now. She has run away from home in the past and, at this point in their investigation, detectives do not believe she has been the victim of any foul play. They are, however, concerned for her well-being and want to get her back home safely.

Anyone who has any information regarding Olivia Bates or her whereabouts is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-7020 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
