Two fugitives wanted for theft are behind bars thanks to the cooperative effort of Shreveport Police Investigators, the media and Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers.
Nadosha S. Lawrence, b/f, 09/12/1986 and Rita G. Moy, b/f, 11/18/1980 were the subjects of an investigation as the two were seen coming out of a Walmart shortly after purchasing gift cards with a stolen check. The two got into an older model White Cadillac and went to another Walmart where they use the cards to purchase items.
Surveillance video was provided to Crime Stoppers for enhancement and identification of the vehicle and the suspects. After placing still photos and video on YouTube and with the media, suspect Lawrence turned herself into CCC for the crime. Shortly thereafter, suspect Moy was identified as the accomplice and subsequently arrested for the crimes.
Crime Stoppers works because of the "Triad" relationship between law enforcement, the media and the public, and cannot exist without the partnership of all three. Removal of any one of the three negates the effectiveness of this valuable program, seriously impacting the ability to bring these criminals to justice. Crime Stoppers coordinator Sgt. Taliaferro stated, "Our responsibility is not to solve crime, but to provide information to the investigators which they might not have. Crime Stoppers will never take credit for solving any crime, and remains mindful there are victims associated with every tip received".
