Armed Shreveport man accused of sexually assaulting woman

Detectives have charged a Shreveport man with aggravated rape in connection with an alleged sexual assault that happened early this morning.

At around 4:00 a.m., police officers were dispatched to a house in the 3200 block of Wagner Street to a sexual assault. 

When officials arrived, they talked to a woman who reported she had been sexually assaulted by a known suspect.

According to the victim, 34-year old Joshua King broke into her home through a bedroom window and accosted her while armed with a box cutter. Following the attack, King ran from the scene of the crime, but was soon caught without incident by responding officers.

Detectives were immediately notified and charged King with one count of aggravated rape.

King was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
