Agents nab husband and wife; seize drugs, guns and money

On Friday, authorities arrested a Caddo Parish couple Friday for allegedly selling drugs out of a local business.

Agents served two search warrants, one at a home in the 3200 block of Marjorie Street and one at a residence in the 3100 block of Edson Boulevard. Agents obtained the warrants based on information and intelligence gathered during the course of an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of marijuana and Ecstasy pills. During the execution of the warrants, authorities seized approximately 20 pounds of suspected marijuana, 118 tablets of Ecstasy, four firearms and almost $1,500 in cash.

Agents arrested 36 year old Sandy Smith, Jr. of Caddo Parish and charged him with three counts of possession of a Schedule I narcotic with the intent to distribute and two counts each of possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was also charged with one count of second offense possession of marijuana. Smith’s wife, identified as 35 year old Jacquandalyn Smith, also of Caddo Parish, was arrested as well and charged with one count each of possession of a Schedule I narcotic with the intent to distribute and possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance. Both suspects were booked directly into the Caddo Correctional Center.
