A Shreveport man is behind bars Monday morning after being accused of robbing a Burger King.

At around 1:39 a.m. Shreveport police officers were called to a reported armed robbery at the Burger King in the 100 block of East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

Upon arrival, employees told officers the manager had locked the door and started closing procedures when a suspect attacked him from behind, punching him in the head. The robber was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. The manager received minor injuries during the attack.

Moments later, law enforcement spotted a suspect walking near the scene of the crime and, upon further investigation, found that man, identified as 22-year old Christopher Walker, to be in possession of the exact amount of currency stolen in the robbery as well as a mask and gloves.

Walker was taken into custody without incident. Detectives interviewed Walker and have now charged him with one count aggravated burglary. Investigators believe he had help gaining access to the business and their investigation is ongoing. Walker was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
