Three Caddo Parish men are behind bars after an off-duty officer saw them breaking into a west Shreveport home Saturday evening.
At approximately 6:22 p.m. on Saturday, Shreveport Police Detective Lt. Dennis Pratt, who was off- duty, saw three male suspects loitering around a home in the 6100 block of Masters Drive. Thinking the men looked suspicious, Lt. Pratt stopped to investigate. Upon seeing the off-duty officer, the suspects fled in a vehicle. Lt. Pratt immediately called for assistance and patrol officers arrived on scene moments later.
Based on information gathered by responding officers, authorities were able to identify the men and later that evening located all three of them and took them into custody without incident. William Bechtel, of the 10000 block of Cherri Lane in Keithville, Louisiana, Tyler Bargenquast, of the 2500 block of Crape Myrtle in Shreveport, and Avery Enders, of the 9000 block of Melody Lane in Shreveport, were taken to the Shreveport Police Complex where they were interviewed by burglary investigators. The men, all 17-years-old, were later booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of attempted burglary of an inhabited dwelling each.
