10-year-old Rayshawn Progue was honored on Monday by Shreveport Fire Chief Brian Crawford.

The third grader rescued his family from a fire that destroyed his Dallas Street house on September 7.

Chief Crawford presented him with a certificate of valor at Shreveport Island Elementary, an honor usually awarded only to firefighters.
